Akrikhin looks into options for providing educational grants to support independent accredited and non-accredited medical educational programmes and events for healthcare professionals and members of the scientific community.
Independent educational programmes may be implemented at the national, regional, or international level and include, among other things, higher and postgraduate education programmes, professional development programmes, accredited continuing medical education events, and other scientific events held in the form of congresses, symposia, seminars, and lectures.
Educational grant may be provided both to fund the participation of healthcare professionals in independent educational programmes and to support the holding of educational programmes and events themselves, including, but not limited to, developing educational methodologies and materials, granting access to data and information, engaging visiting professors, etc.
Akrikhin reviews educational grant requests in the following priority areas:
Educational grant may only be provided to non-profit organisations and may not be intended for specific healthcare professionals.
Akrikhin points out that the responsibility for and supervision of the selection of participants in educational programmes, as well as the scope, teaching staff, methods, and materials, and venue are vested in the organisers of the corresponding educational programme or event.
Akrikhin attaches great value to and believes that it is important to provide support for clinical trials and research studies initiated by independent investigators.
Such studies may include post-authorisation and non-interventional (observational) trials, epidemiological surveys, and other research studies.
Independent studies are supported by providing research grants. Research grants may be provided in the form of funding a study, supplying the studied product, and other non-financial assistance.
Support may be provided to investigator-initiated studies that are in compliance with the current laws and ethical standards and have the necessary scientific value in the Company’s priority areas as follows:
Research grant may only be provided to non-profit research and educational organisations that sponsor studies and may not be intended for specific healthcare professionals or researchers.
Support for investigator-initiated studies may not be conditional and does not imply any counter-obligations. The Company refrains from influencing the study design, the selection of researchers, and the determination of any other parameters and aspects of the study.
Akrikhin is not and cannot be considered as the organiser (sponsor) of the supported investigator-initiated studies.
Akrikhin acknowledges the importance of supporting charitable initiatives aimed at improving the health and education of patients.
Support in improving the health of patients may include providing healthcare institutions with medicinal products, giving assistance in diagnosing diseases, and rendering medical services to patients.
Raising educational attainment and awareness of patients regarding diseases and methods of treatment and diagnosis may be realised by support for arranging educational (awareness-raising) events and developing educational programmes and materials.
